Esme Roberts
I met Esme when she moved to school in year 8 from Canada. She should, technically, have been in the year above us, but seeing as Canadians do things differently, she was on about the same level as us. From the first day she arrived, Esme, Effie and I were inseparable.
She has crazy curly hair, a massive imagination and a habit of coming up with mad schemes that she’s never going to see through ’til the end! Over the years, we’ve come up with some amazing ideas, from a party planning business to holidays to outings and parties! Even though hardly any of them came to anything, it was always fun.
In the summer of year 12, more commonly known as 2008, Es moved back to Canada to go to university. We’re still best friends and talk all the time, but I miss her LOADS!
Effie Smith
Effie and I met in year 7, but didn’t really make friends until the beginning to year 8. She’s very tall and skinny, and Es and I nicknamed her ‘The Marrow’. I think her height and skinniness used to annoy Ef, but she’s grown into her figure and I can’t imagine her any other way.
Effie is incredibly sensible. She was always the voice of reason behind us whenever either me or Es had a crazy idea. Somehow she had an ability to point out all the flaws in something without annoying us. It’s probably a good job she had that talent, seeing as she spent most of her time pointing out problems!
Caroline Mason
Caro is probably one of the craziest people I’ve met. She doesn’t seem to have any inhibitions and her favourite way of addressing people is by calling them, ‘Mamafitas’. She has long, long hair which is her pride and joy. Apparently her greatest fear is that someone will cut her hair off while she’s sitting on a bus. I think this is the reason why she absolutely hates going on busses!
If you’re planning a night out, Caro’s one person that you definitely want to take with you. She’s also probably one of the funniest drunks I’ve met. When we all went on holiday, she threw a mug at our friend Jasmine and tipped beer all over me because we were trying to put her to bed. This may sound horribly violent, but it was actually a very funny moment!
Mollie Mace
Mollie is adorable. She would never say a bad word about anyone and loves to abbreviate words. ‘Ontings’, ‘seer’ and ‘jokes’ are a few of these words she creates for herself. In a conversation with Mollie, only about 90% of what she says will be in its full form. It can sometimes take a while to understand what she’s on about!
She also loves a good time. She and Caro are the two most likely to be heading out for a night out and, between the three of us, things tend to get a bit crazy. There are also the times where she gets a little bit obsessed with things. For instance, she spent the whole of year 11 in love with Justin Timberlake. This involved covering the entire form room with posters and pictures of him, forcing us to watch ‘Alpha Dogs’ every so often (even though she, Jas and Nina were the only ones who liked it) and trying to organise us all to go and see him in concert. In the end only she and Nina went and luckily the obsession ended soon after!
